President’s Message – April 1, 2025
Star Sherwood
I am honored to step into the role as President of the Fort Myers Beach Art Association, following in the footsteps of Joan Zeoli who has been a dedicated leader of our organization for the past two years. As we move into a new season of leadership, I would like to thank the past Board of Directors & Officers for their years of service as well as all of our members who work hard by sharing your time and talents to make our organization successful.
The FMBAA is grateful to the Fort Myers United Congregational Church for providing us a home for the past two years since our gallery was destroyed by Hurricane Ian. We have been concentrating our efforts on raising money to rebuild our gallery on Fort Myers Beach, and although our fundraising efforts have not been as fruitful as we had hoped, we still have a lot to be excited about.
The organization has made the decision to lease space in Fort Myers where we will have our own gallery and a place where we can have our own exhibits, receptions, workshops, classes, and fun events. This is indeed exciting! As I look ahead into our future and the challenges we will face, I am hopeful that we will continue to have the support of our members and our community. Through our collective action, I am confident that we can fulfill our mission to rebuild our gallery while thriving in our new temporary location.
Thank you for allowing me to serve alongside you and I truly appreciate your support. I encourage you to share any feedback and ideas you may have as we work together to make our organization better.
Sincerely,
Star Sherwood
President of the Fort Myers Beach Art Association
