The ninth annual Paint the Beach plein air painting competition concluded on Sat. Nov. 3 with a reception at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association gallery. It was a festive atmosphere, well attended by artists and art lovers. Judge Joe Palmerio deliberated carefully as he selected the winning paintings from those presented by the artists after two days of painting outdoors around the town of Fort Myers Beach. Awards were presented to those selected which featured the local shrimp boat fleet in the top three winners. Always a favorite subject, the winning artists found them to be a challenge worth the effort to capture.
