Judge’s overall comments

What a beautiful and diverse show! I loved so many of the paintings, it was extremely hard to select award winners. My judging is based on overall appeal and design, originality, skilled and use of medium. When in a pinch, I also consider presentation. Does the artist care enough about their painting to frame it well? Are there elements that if I put my finger over would make it a better painting? Does a black signature become the focal point of the painting? Everyone should be so proud of this lovely show. I look forward to seeing more art from the Fort Myers Beach Artists!
